Reflections on March 2017 as an apprentice with Greater Manchester Police Reflections on March 2017 as an apprentice with Greater Manchester Police

by Emma Woodhead

I have been an apprentice with GMP for six months now. This month, I have been given the opportunity to attend a suicide prevention course at Sedgley Park. This was a very rare opportunity so I’m lucky to have been offered the chance to attend. I have also been assigned my very own GMP mentor to help me to prepare for potential future job opportunities. Alongside this, I will be spending a few days with my mentor as part of my personal development plan. This will benefit me as I am able to experience a different area of work. Now I have reached my six-month mark within GMP, I am now starting to think about my future career. The roles that I am looking to apply for are intelligence officers and investigative support officers as I really enjoy the investigative side of things.
