Reflections on March 2017 as an apprentice with Withers LLP
Having almost reached the halfway mark of my one year apprenticeship, I continue to engage in a number of varied tasks. As well as the usual admin tasks, I have also been carrying out tasks such as researching for partners and preparing bill packs for clients. Whilst I am thoroughly enjoying working within legal admin, my experience at Withers has enhanced my interest in law and amplified my wish to begin my journey in a legal role.
Over the last two months in particular, I have developed my interpersonal skills by liaising with a variety of colleagues who range from Admin Assistants and Secretaries to Associates and Partners. Although this was an initial challenge, I have and continue to grow in confidence which is largely due to my apprenticeship opportunity. I have had the chance to attend internal training at Withers regarding the principles of success and resilience at work, which is one of many opportunities that working at a big firm has to offer. Moreover, I have been assigned a 'buddy', our new Legal Admin Apprentice, which has been thoroughly enjoyable.
I continue to balance my study alongside full-time work and I have adapted well to this challenge. As ever, I am looking forward to seeing what the next few months at Withers has to offer!
