My first month as an apprentice with the Crown Prosecution Service Guildford My first month as an apprentice with the Crown Prosecution Service Guildford

by Matt Merchant

My name’s Matt and I’m an Administration Officer at the Crown Prosecution Service in Guildford. I’ve just started an intermediate apprenticeship in business administration and will be writing about my apprenticeship every month in this blog.

Apprenticeship have been in my thoughts ever since I started my GCSEs but the decision to start one really came to fruition during A-Levels when it occurred to me that I didn’t want to go to university. I wanted the chance to continue learning outside of the classroom. Since starting my apprenticeship, I have been integrated into the team and work closely with my co-workers to collate and bundle the correct files needed for court cases. I have really enjoyed learning on the job. By the end of my apprenticeship, I hope to have learnt everything necessary for a career in legal administration, as well as making some new work friends along the way!
