Reflections on February 2017 as an apprentice with Clarion Solicitors
I had a great month in February; the post-Christmas period has been busy for me and my team, as work has continued to flood in from our clients. This, coupled with planning for the Costs Team’s forthcoming seminars, has ensured that I have had plenty to keep me occupied.
At the beginning of the month, I attended the firm’s annual Lawyer’s Conference, whereby all fee earners spent the day at an internal seminar, off site, to discuss key strategic plans and initiatives, and take part in team building activities and networking. I also took part in a cocktail making event with CILEx (the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) and therefore met other CILEx members, some of whom are in the same position as me with respect to their training.
I have learned a great deal since Christmas and have taken on new responsibilities within the team, including drafting requests for reassessment to be sent to court and preparing higher value Bills of Costs. Due to the rapid growth of our team, I have assisted with the training of a new colleague, and helped with preparations for my team’s ‘Court of Protection Masterclass’ seminar.
It has been an eventful month at Clarion and I look forward to the events we have planned in the next few weeks.
