Aleisha Starkie completed an Advanced Level AAT Apprenticeship in Accountancy at Hayes Medicals. Being an extremely hard-working student, Aleisha completed each task with passion and dedication. She completed one unit after one day of teaching and passed her exam with a fantastic result. Throughout her apprenticeship, Aleisha always stayed on top of her work no matter the circumstances which demonstrates her admirable commitment. Her brilliant results are a reflection of the hard work she puts into her studies.
Here is what Aleisha has to say about her apprenticeship experience.
What led you to enrol on an apprenticeship?
I recognised the benefits of an apprenticeship as I can gain work experience as well as academic experience, something which I feel is important because I can see the relevance of my studies within my job.
What does your role as an apprentice entail?
My day-to-day role involves maintaining purchase invoices and helping to process payments. However, I also complete other tasks as requested by my manager.
What have you enjoyed most about your apprenticeship?
Learning new skills and meeting new people both within work and college.
What has been a personal highlight of your apprenticeship?
I have gradually taken on more responsibilities within the office, as this has made me feel like I have progressed since the start of my apprenticeship.
Have you got any advice for school leavers looking for the right career path?
Consider all options as a potential route into your chosen career. The first option that you see may not necessarily be the best option for you.
Ruth Taylor-Yorke, Head of Finance at Hayes Medicals comments:
