Congratulations to James Jones, the first apprentice at Horwich Cohen Coghlan Solicitors to progress to the advanced legal services apprenticeship!
James completed his A-Levels and was accepted into university. However, James quickly realised that this particular route was not for him. Working in the legal environment whilst completing a qualification appealed greatly to James and therefore he applied for apprenticeships in his desired area of law. He secured an apprenticeship at HCC starting in the post room completing an intermediate legal administration apprenticeship. Through this apprenticeship, James worked his way through to the Stage 1 team dealing with road traffic accident claims.
James has really enjoyed seeing the results of all of his hard work, progressing within the apprenticeship and his job. He has now progressed onto an advanced legal services apprenticeship and is currently preparing for his CILEx examinations.
Patrick Cunningham, HR Advisor at Horwich Cohen Coghlan Solicitors says:
“The apprenticeship programme has been a real success; it has provided James with the academic background necessary for his role. One of the key benefits of the course was the onsite training; this enabled James to work and learn in a familiar environment with the face-to-face learning and instant feedback this entails. James has excelled through the course, handling both the workload and training aspects with professionalism and enthusiasm”.
James’ trainer, Katie A. Davies says:
“It has been a pleasure working with James over the last year. He has progressed well both in his job role and qualification. I am looking forward to continuing to work with James in his advanced apprenticeship”.
