Overview

About you

With a successful track record in a similar apprenticeship recruitment role or a solid grounding within the recruitment industry, you will be passionate about finding and matching talented apprenticeship candidates to employer vacancies. With a realistic and achievable performance-related bonus, this position will appeal to someone who is driven, organised, self-disciplined and passionate about finding the best apprenticeship candidates for our employers.

The Role

The key word here is variation! In a typical week you could be screening candidates, searching for new applicants, advertising vacancies, setting up interviews with employers, attending a careers fair or exhibiting at an event.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Managing the recruitment process for varied businesses in a number of different sectors
  • Pro-actively and imaginatively sourcing candidates.
  • Filtering applications and communicating with candidates and their parents.
  • Interviewing candidates face to face, via telephone and Skype.
  • Improving candidate CVs and presenting to employers.
  • Preparing candidates for interview.
  • Representing Damar at recruitment events and exhibitions.

Due to the introduction of the new Business Administrator standard, we have an exciting, full-time opportunity to join our Business Administration delivery team. 

 

About the role

You will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices, most of whom will be employed in business administration roles with various employers, including non-clinical roles within the NHS. 

You will work with your apprentices and their employers, usually on-site at the employer, ensuring that your apprentices complete their qualifications successfully, in a timely manner and in accordance with their individual training plans. You will also ensure that both the student and the employer gain lasting benefits from our service.

It is essential that you:

  • Have a strong business administration background and are passionate in the field. 
  • Enjoy building relationships with a wide cross-section of people, from school leavers starting their first job to established staff, their Supervisors and Directors.
  • Share our passion for helping apprentices and their employers achieve and progress.
  • Are highly organised and good at managing your time.
  • Have good GCSEs (or higher) in English and maths.
  • IT literate.

Ideally you:

  • Have delivered classroom training to groups 
  • Have some experience in mentoring people to achieve a common goal
  • Come from a medical background to support the delivery of the standard in a medical environment

Teaching qualifications are an advantage but not a requirement – full training will be provided.

 

Place of work

Although you will be out with your students for the majority of the time, your place of work will be our head office in Stockport.

Damar Training are a successful and growing training provider specialising in the delivery of a range of exciting new standards-based apprenticeships across the legal, financial, travel, medical and business sectors. Our team of industry experienced Account Managers consult with regional and national levy paying companies at a senior level to understand their skills needs and present apprenticeship based solutions. 

Damar has played a leading role in the creation of apprenticeships for the legal services sector and we now work with a wide range of employers, from international law firms to in-house legal teams and small firms of solicitors.

Due to ongoing success we are actively seeking an Account Manager to join our established legal sector team.

Your role:

You will be responsible for growing and looking after a group of employer accounts, mostly with clients in the legal services sector. You will manage these employers from acquisition all the way through the process, ensuring that we provide a service that meets their business needs and exceeds expectations.  

Main responsibilities include

  • Developing relationships with legal sector employers.
  • Generating repeat business and new apprenticeship starts through effective account management.
  • Ensuring that we meet the terms of our service level agreements.
  • Developing and maintaining networks of contacts with your employers – including at the most senior level.
  • Working with training team colleagues to ensure that content is tailored appropriately.
  • Being the primary point of contact in the event of questions or problems.
  • Staying in regular touch with your employers and ensuring that they are kept up to speed with changes to apprenticeships and funding.

 

Skills and Experience:

Damar has been delivering accountancy apprenticeships for many years. We were an AAT “provider of the year” in 2016 and have been one of the first to offer the new accountancy apprenticeship standards. We are growing and are looking for self-employed accountancy tutors who can provide 1:1 work-based and small group support to our accountancy apprentices. For tutors based in or near Greater Manchester this will include the delivery of small group sessions at our Stockport centre.

These roles are flexible and are ideal for those with other teaching commitments or if you are returning to work after a career break. We would be interested in speaking to you if you are available for at least a day a week.

About the role

These apprenticeships have AAT accounting qualifications embedded within them. Most of our teaching materials are online and students have course manuals and detailed training plans. However, you will need to be able to provide 1:1 support on areas of the syllabus that your students are finding difficult as well as ensuring that your apprentices are applying their knowledge in the workplace.

About you

It is essential that you:

  • are an accountant either in practice or in a teaching role. If the latter, you will have good vocational experience from your time in practice or in-house.
  • have appropriate accountancy qualifications. Certainly, you will be at AAT Technician level or higher.
  • enjoy building relationships with a wide cross-section of people, from school leavers starting their first job to HR directors and partners.
  • share our passion for helping apprentices and their employers achieve and progress.
  • are highly organised and good at managing your time.
  • have good GCSEs (or higher) in English and maths.
  • are IT literate.

Ideally you:

  • have mentored or supervised more junior accountancy staff.
  • have delivered training in-house to accountants or accountancy apprentices.
  • have taught AAT accountancy qualification either on a standalone basis or within apprenticeships.
  • enjoy presenting to groups – e.g. prospective and current apprentices, employers.

Teaching qualifications are an advantage but not a requirement – full training will be provided.

Place of work

This is a home-based role but you will spend most of your time with your apprentices at their place of work (expenses are reimbursed). You will also need to visit out head office in Stockport from time to time.

Damar has played a pivotal role in the development of legal apprenticeships in England and we work with a wide range of law firms and in-house legal teams helping them to introduce apprenticeship programmes for new and existing staff. Growing demand means that we are recruiting further trainer/assessors to serve employers and apprentices.

 

About the role

You will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices, most of whom will be employed with firms of solicitors and other employers in the legal sector. You will work with your apprentices and their employers, usually on-site at the employer, ensuring that your apprentices complete their qualifications successfully, in a timely manner and in accordance with their individual training plans and that they and their employers derive real benefits from our service. 

You may also have the opportunity to teach one or more of the specialist courses (contract law or land for example) to a cohort of apprentice students, primarily via webinar and e-tutorial. 

 

About you

It is essential that you:

  • are a solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced paralegal. You will be (or have been until recently) in practice or in a legal teaching role.
  • have appropriate English legal qualifications – eg, CILEx level 6, LLB, GDL.
