Damar works with a wide range of employers nationally, helping them to introduce apprenticeship programmes for new and existing staff. Having launched a national programme with a large levy paying organisation, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Customer Service delivery team. This is a full time role. 

 

About the role

You will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices, whom will be employed in customer service roles in one large employer. You will work with your apprentices and their employer, on-site at the employer and remotely, ensuring that your apprentices complete their qualifications successfully, in a timely manner and in accordance with their individual training plans. You will also ensure that they and their employer derive real benefits from our service.

About you

It is essential that you:

  • Have a strong customer service background and are passionate in the field.
  • Enjoy building relationships with a wide cross-section of people, from school leavers starting their first job to HR directors and directors.
  • Share our passion for helping apprentices and their employers achieve and progress.
  • Are highly organised and good at managing your time.
  • Have good GCSEs (or higher) in English and maths.
  • Are IT literate.
  • Are willing to travel as we have students nationwide, and although they will be grouped accordingly travel will be essential along with some overnight stays. 

Ideally you:

  • Have delivered classroom training to groups
  • Have some experience in mentoring people to achieve a common goal
  • Enjoy presenting to groups – eg prospective and current apprentices, employers.
  • Teaching qualifications are an advantage but not a requirement – full training will be provided.

 

Place of work

We have several vacanices available nationwide so place of work will be discussed at interview, this will either be our head office in Stockport or your home address.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Thorough understanding of the requirements of your specialist qualification(s).
  • Ensuring that your apprentices follow their clear training plans and that they and their employer are kept up to date with progress.
  • Delivery of training and assessment in accordance with Ofsted and awarding body requirements as well as our internal requirements.
  • Identifying employer and student objectives and ensuring that training delivery exceeds those objectives.
  • Delivering appropriate information, advice and guidance regarding work-based learning and progression routes.
  • Playing your part as a member of the team – sharing best practice and supporting colleagues wherever possible.

About you

It is essential that you:

  • Have a strong customer service background and are passionate in the field.
  • Enjoy building relationships with a wide cross-section of people, from school leavers starting their first job to HR directors and directors.

About the role

You will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices, most of whom will be employed in accounts departments across a range of private and public-sector organisations. You will work with your apprentices and their employers, on-site at the employer, ensuring that your apprentices complete their qualifications successfully, in a timely manner and in accordance with their individual training plans and that they and their employers derive real benefits from our service. 

 

Your apprentices will be studying towards, either:

 

These apprenticeships have AAT accounting qualifications embedded within them. Alongside the AAT delivery which will either be in house (classroom delivery) or using online resources, you will be required to conduct face-to-face visits with all our apprentices to fulfil the requirements of their portfolio. These visits may be 1:1 or group training sessions here at Damar, the purpose of the visits are to provide training in a variety of areas, topics may include; stakeholders, business strategies, problem solving and embracing change.

 

About you

It is essential that you have:

  • enjoy building relationships with a wide cross-section of people, from school leavers starting their first job to HR directors and partners.
  • share our passion for helping apprentices and their employers achieve and progress.
  • are highly organised and good at managing your time.
  • have good GCSEs (or higher) in English and Math.
  • are IT literate.

 

Ideally you:

  • have experience of working within an accountancy firm
  • have mentored or supervised other members of staff.
  • have delivered training in-house
  • enjoy presenting to groups – e.g. prospective and current apprentices, employers.

Teaching qualifications are an advantage but not a requirement – full training will be provided.

 

Place of work

This is an office-based role and will be based at our head office in Stockport, but you will spend most of your time with your apprentices at their place of work (expenses are reimbursed).
