Damar works with a wide range of employers, located nationally, helping them to introduce apprenticeship programmes for new and existing staff within their organisations. 

Due to the introduction of the new Business Administrator standard, we have an exciting, full-time opportunity to join our Business Administration delivery team. 

 

About the role

You will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices, most of whom will be employed in business administration roles with various employers, including non-clinical roles within the NHS. 

You will work with your apprentices and their employers, usually on-site at the employer, ensuring that your apprentices complete their qualifications successfully, in a timely manner and in accordance with their individual training plans. You will also ensure that both the student and the employer gain lasting benefits from our service.

About you

It is essential that you:

  • Have a strong business administration background and are passionate in the field. 
  • Enjoy building relationships with a wide cross-section of people, from school leavers starting their first job to established staff, their Supervisors and Directors.
  • Share our passion for helping apprentices and their employers achieve and progress.
  • Are highly organised and good at managing your time.
  • Have good GCSEs (or higher) in English and maths.
  • IT literate.

Ideally you:

  • Have delivered classroom training to groups 
  • Have some experience in mentoring people to achieve a common goal
  • Come from a medical background to support the delivery of the standard in a medical environment

Teaching qualifications are an advantage but not a requirement – full training will be provided.

 

Place of work

Although you will be out with your students for the majority of the time, your place of work will be our head office in Stockport.

Damar Training are a successful and growing training provider specialising in the delivery of a range of exciting new standards-based apprenticeships across the legal, financial, travel, medical and business sectors. Our team of industry experienced Account Managers consult with regional and national levy paying companies at a senior level to understand their skills needs and present apprenticeship based solutions. 

Damar has played a leading role in the creation of apprenticeships for the legal services sector and we now work with a wide range of employers, from international law firms to in-house legal teams and small firms of solicitors.

Due to ongoing success we are actively seeking an Account Manager to join our established legal sector team.

Your role:

You will be responsible for growing and looking after a group of employer accounts, mostly with clients in the legal services sector. You will manage these employers from acquisition all the way through the process, ensuring that we provide a service that meets their business needs and exceeds expectations.  

Main responsibilities include

  • Developing relationships with legal sector employers.
  • Generating repeat business and new apprenticeship starts through effective account management.
  • Ensuring that we meet the terms of our service level agreements.
  • Developing and maintaining networks of contacts with your employers – including at the most senior level.
  • Working with training team colleagues to ensure that content is tailored appropriately.
  • Being the primary point of contact in the event of questions or problems.
  • Staying in regular touch with your employers and ensuring that they are kept up to speed with changes to apprenticeships and funding.

 

Skills and Experience:

Damar has been delivering accountancy apprenticeships for many years. We were an AAT “provider of the year” in 2016 and have been one of the first to offer the new accountancy apprenticeship standards. We are growing and are looking for self-employed accountancy tutors who can provide 1:1 work-based and small group support to our accountancy apprentices. For tutors based in or near Greater Manchester this will include the delivery of small group sessions at our Stockport centre.

These roles are flexible and are ideal for those with other teaching commitments or if you are returning to work after a career break. We would be interested in speaking to you if you are available for at least a day a week.

These apprenticeships have AAT accounting qualifications embedded within them. Most of our teaching materials are online and students have course manuals and detailed training plans. However, you will need to be able to provide 1:1 support on areas of the syllabus that your students are finding difficult as well as ensuring that your apprentices are applying their knowledge in the workplace.

About you

It is essential that you:

  • are an accountant either in practice or in a teaching role. If the latter, you will have good vocational experience from your time in practice or in-house.
  • have appropriate accountancy qualifications. Certainly, you will be at AAT Technician level or higher.
  • enjoy building relationships with a wide cross-section of people, from school leavers starting their first job to HR directors and partners.
  • share our passion for helping apprentices and their employers achieve and progress.
  • are highly organised and good at managing your time.
  • have good GCSEs (or higher) in English and maths.
  • are IT literate.

Ideally you:

  • have mentored or supervised more junior accountancy staff.
  • have delivered training in-house to accountants or accountancy apprentices.
  • have taught AAT accountancy qualification either on a standalone basis or within apprenticeships.
  • enjoy presenting to groups – e.g. prospective and current apprentices, employers.

You will be responsible for a caseload of apprentices, most of whom will be employed with a range of organisations within a professional services sector. You will support students who have an identified need to complete their functional skills exams in Maths, English and ICT. The role will require you to work with their assigned trainer to support in one or all of the functional skills areas dependent on the student need. You will be tasked to work to deadlines in line with ESFA funding regulations. You will be responsible for planning and supporting your case load of students to ensure they are able to achieve their apprenticeship in their chosen career.  

 

Your apprentices will be studying towards, either:

  • Level 1 or level 2 functional skills maths
  • Level 1 or level 2 functional skills English
  • Level 1 or level 2 functional skills ICT

 

We have a variety of resources to support the delivery of functional skills including the BKSB initial assessment and diagnostic testing, as well as a bespoke VLE system with resources to support in all 3 functional skills across all levels. These resources along with your knowledge and expertise in functional skills will ensure success for our students.

 

About you

  • Have a learning and development qualification or equivalent.
  • Have as a minimum a recent pass in functional skills at level 2 in Maths, English and ICT.

Overview

Our team of industry experienced Business Development Executives consult with regional and national companies at a senior level to understand their skills needs and present apprenticeship based solutions. We are now actively seeking two additional Business Development Executives to join this dynamic team.

Your role:

  • Generating a pipeline of new apprenticeship starts through a consultative sales approach across a range of SME businesses throughout the North West
  • Developing strong networks and building awareness of Damar Training by attending and presenting at networking events and seminars
  • Producing costed quotations and proposals in order to win apprenticeship contracts
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of changes to industry funding (Levy), eligibility, legislation and regional grants
  • Scheduling regular contact with current employers in person and by telephone to build relationships and increase apprenticeship vacancies
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Damar’s apprenticeship offer such as the newly developed standards, new enhanced content and blended delivery models
  • Ensuring regular communication with internal stakeholders such as the delivery team
  • Working with Marketing to provide content for e-marketing and social media activity
  • Recording all meetings and customer contact using the CRM database
  • Creating full, detailed job specifications and recruitment plans for allocation to the Resourcing Team
  • Creating engaging and effective vacancy advertisements
  • Ensuring that all health and safety and insurance paperwork is up to date

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Track record in new business development and account management within an apprenticeship or recruitment setting
  • The ability to engage with a decision maker, analyse the organisation’s skills and recruitment needs in order to discover apprenticeship and training based solutions

  • Well-developed verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Good level of IT skills including use of CRM systems and MS Office applications
