How does it work?
- You send us your CV and we will invite you to one of our assessment days.
- At the assessment day you get a 1:1 interview with a member of our recruitment team. You will also complete our skills assessment. This ensures that we match you with the right kind of opportunity.
- We put you forward for job interviews with employers. We will also help give you the tools you need to find your own apprenticeship.
- If appropriate we will offer you some training at Damar before you start work. This will maximise your chances of securing and retaining an apprenticeship.
- Once in work, you will receive tailored training and support on a 1:1 basis from Damar.
- The training usually lasts for up to twelve months and leads to a recognised qualification demonstrating your ability to do your job. In most cases this will be an intermediate or advanced apprenticeship qualification.
- At the end of year one most of our apprentices see their salary increase (often by as much as 20%), reflecting the progress they have made.
Is there a cost?
We do not charge our apprentices for the cost of training. However your salary at the outset will usually reflect the fact that a significant investment of time and money is being made in your training and development.
Please note...
If at any stage we feel our programme is not right for you we will let you know and give you information about other options. This might be because...
- We do not feel that your skills are a close enough match to our employers' needs.
- You do not attend interviews or training sessions on time, appropriately presented or ready to work.
An apprenticeship with Damar is only right for you if you also want to develop your skills and achieve further qualifications once in work. This will take some time and additional commitment outside your normal working hours.
