We are delighted to announce that we can now offer our employers and students access to the Association of Accounting Technicians Level 4 Diploma in Accounting.
The Level 4 Diploma is a professional finance qualification. Achievement entitles students to full membership of the AAT, including the right to use the letters MAAT after their name. Full AAT members work in a wide range of finance positions and managerial roles.
Damar delivers the level 4 Diploma as part of a Higher Apprenticeship in Accounts. This enables many students to access some Government funding for the training.
In most cases students will need to have completed the Level 2 Certificate and the Level 3 Diploma either alone or as part of an apprenticeship before starting a Higher Apprenticeship. Funding support is not available for students who have prior qualifications higher than A level.
As with all apprenticeships students need to be working, ideally full-time, in a finance role. We can support candidates with finding a suitable position in some cases.
Students are required to undertake six modules, of which two are optional from a possible four. The compulsory units cover:
- Financial Statements
- Financial Performance
- Financial Control and Internal Systems
The optional units cover:
- Credit Management and Control
- Personal Tax
- Business Tax
- External Auditing
We deliver the Higher Apprenticeship in Accounts in partnership with sector specialist BPP Professional Education. As well as 1:1 support from their Damar assessor at work, students attend an afternoon (1.30 to 4.30pm) or evening (6pm to 8.45pm) session at BPP’s training centre in Central Manchester each week.
For students who are eligible for subsidy we charge employers:
- An enrolment fee of £250+VAT;
- A weekly fee (billed monthly) of £25+VAT for 10 months (£1,083).
The total employer contribution is therefore £1,333+VAT. If the student should leave their job part way through the course charges cease. Registration and exam fees (excluding retakes) are included in the price.
NB: full funding is available for students aged under 19 on enrolment - there is no employer contribution.
