Damar Training was at Helphire in Gadbrook Park earlier this week to celebrate the success of Helphire apprentice Emma Clogg. As well as completing her advanced apprenticeship in business and administration in only five months, Emma also won Damar’s “learner of the month” award for March. Emma’s achievement is particularly special because the qualification was updated in August 2010 and she is one of the first people in the country to complete the new award.
Emma is the thirteenth apprentice at Helphire to complete an apprenticeship with Damar since the programme began in early 2008. Many of those apprentices are still with the company and are now progressing well in their careers.
Jan Draper, HR Manager commented:
"The apprenticeship programme that we have run in partnership with Damar has worked really well, both for new recruits and some existing members of staff who have achieved qualifications relevant to their roles. It has enabled us to attract some good young people into the business and has broadened the range of development opportunities for both new and existing staff."
Jonathan Bourne, Damar’s Managing Director added:
"I have been delighted with the support that Helphire has given to the programme. Emma has worked very hard and has done brilliantly to complete her qualification so quickly. The achievement of so many positive outcomes for Helphire staff is testament to the hard work not just of the learners but also to the commitment of supervisors and the management team to offering the best possible opportunities to their people."
