A more flexible route to higher level accountancy training

Specialist apprenticeship provider Damar Training has expanded its range of AAT accountancy apprenticeships to include the higher level apprenticeship in accounts. This means that accountants and their employers will be able to benefit from Damar’s uniquely flexible training offer all the way up to full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians – the vocational equivalent to the first year of a degree. From there, students can progress to further accountancy qualifications right up to Chartered Accountant status.

Robin Lindsay, operations manager at Damar Training, commented:

“Businesses don’t operate to the academic calendar and fixed course lengths don’t cater for the fact that people learn at different speeds. Our accountancy apprenticeships mean that firms can use our free recruitment service to recruit when they like and apprentices can start their training when it is best for them and their employers.

“Best of all the Government pays much of the cost of the training and, for employers who haven’t had an apprentice in the last year, a grant of £1,500 is available in many cases.”

Careshop (a trading division of Bunzl Healthcare) is one leading Manchester employer that is taking advantage of the programme.  Simon Caton from Careshop commented:

“Damar’s flexible approach to the AAT qualifications suits our business needs perfectly. It means that our staff can start their training when they are ready to do so. The combination of 1:1 support from Damar in the workplace and small group training sessions means that apprentices get the support they need and that training is tailored to match our business needs.”

Damar Training, based in Stockport, delivers accounts training to firms across the North West. If you are interested in accounts training for yourself or your staff please call Damar on 0161 480 8171.
