Just over a year ago Just Search, for the first time, took on two apprentices. Diverging from the conventional route of hiring fresh out of university graduates, Just Search decided to give young candidates the chance to learn about the day-to-day practices of a digital agency and gain valuable experience in a working environment. The decision to nurture and develop a new generation of employees certainly paid off as Just Search is pleased to announce we have recently employed our apprentices in full-time, permanent roles.
Charlotte Hallam was contacted by Damar Training about a content writing internship role. Charlotte recently completed the 12 month apprenticeship and was thrilled to pass her NVQ. Being a valued member of the Just Search content team, Charlotte was offered a permanent position. Enjoying her job writing content for a diverse range of clients, Charlotte was delighted to accept the offer.
“I feel like I’m truly part of the team now,” said Charlotte. “Although my job hasn’t changed that much I guess I’m more capable now than I was which makes it a lot easier.”
James Trotter’s employment situation was similar to Charlotte’s. Earlier this year James completed his one-year apprenticeship as an SEO programmer with Just Search and was offered a permanent position as an SEO and Outreach Executive. James is thriving in his new role and likens Just Search to being a university for SEO, PPC and SMO!
As the former apprentices settle into permanent roles at the company, Just Search has welcomed two new interns, Alex Forster and Michael Miskell. Both Alex and Michael are doing a 12 month business and administration course with Damar training.
“I like the fact that there’s an open work space and that everybody has been very welcoming and helpful. It was also nice coming to work here and finding out that I knew one of the members of staff already (James Trotter). James has been very helpful and has always been able to help me if I got stuck,” said Alex.
“I’ve learnt a lot in the four months I have been here, although I know that I’ve only just started learning information that will prove very useful for the rest of my career in Outreach,” continued Alex.
The apprentice also said that by joining a well-known and highly reputed company, his experience with Just Search is likely to be particularly beneficial to his future career.
It certainly seems that Just Search’s commitment to developing young candidates is recompensing the company with a new generation of talented employees.
