Damar Training, the specialist apprenticeship provider, recently celebrated the graduation of eight higher apprentices in accountancy and business skills with a very special ceremony held at Robinsons Brewery Visitors Centre, Stockport.
Specialising in delivering apprenticeships in business skills, Damar works with a range of organisations across the North West delivering AAT’s (The Association of Accounting Technicians) intermediate, advanced and higher apprenticeships in accountancy.
Employers and family members were in attendance to celebrate the class of 2016 as each graduate received their final certificates as Damar students. Having succeeded through all three levels of their apprenticeships (intermediate, advanced and higher), the graduates were awarded full Accounting Technician status and may progress to chartered accountancy.
Congratulations to all the graduates who have completed their apprenticeships (from left to right): Elisha Spence-Lees (PAL Hire), Jess Fletcher (Sim Trava), Lee Wilks (Bennett Verby), Ellie Stiles (Capita Travel and Events), Lisa Cochran (Stockport Truck Centre), Alex Yeates (BASF), Tom Williams (Afford Bond) and Matt Southam (Afford Bond).
Very well done indeed to Lisa Cochran who was awarded Damar’s AAT Student of the Year and Jess Fletcher and Ellie Stiles, Damar’s Outstanding Achievement Award winners. Lisa was also shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year in AAT’s Training Provider of the Year Awards 2016.

Angela Renshaw, Damar’s Accounts Team Manager comments:
"I am extremely proud of all of our Higher Apprentices. They have all achieved two qualifications whilst undertaking their apprenticeship and in doing so, have gained a Level 4 Diploma in Accounting and a Level 4 Diploma in Business Skills. The work and effort put in by each and every one of these individuals has been outstanding. They have all had a journey from starting out their career at level 2 and have progressed into the professionals that they are today. All of these students are now continuing on to further studies with ACCA or CIMA and I wish them all the luck in the world as they continue their accountancy journey".
