Pitmans has launched a paid apprenticeship programme in partnership with the award winning legal apprenticeship specialists Damar Training. The scheme will create an opportunity for three young people interested in the legal sector to combine their studies with gaining valuable experience working for a law firm.
The apprenticeship is run through the National Legal Apprenticeship scheme and the apprentices will receive one-to-one tuition from Damar’s legal tutors to support them in achieving the recognised national Level 3 Diploma in Legal Administration.
They will be immersed into practical, hands-on work, supporting the solicitors and staff with duties including the administration of legal files and dealing with client queries.
Danny Smith, HR Director at Pitmans, said: “Pitmans is committed to finding and nurturing talent across all levels and ensuring people are given equal opportunities to thrive and succeed.
“We often find that young, bright people are deterred from the profession due to the cost of university fees. This scheme will give the aspiring lawyers a different route into the legal sector and the opportunity to develop skills, gain qualifications and start a legal career whilst earning a salary.”
The three apprentices will join Pitmans’ Reading office from September 2016.
