I have now been at Withers for just over three months and the tasks I am completing are becoming more varied and complex. Whereas when I first started at Withers, I was mainly completing general admin tasks for the legal secretaries, I am now being given tasks directly from the Partners and Associates. This allows me to be more engaged with the workings of the firm. The tasks I am currently working on include, to name a few, putting bundles together for fee-earners, amending a Partner's mailing list of potential clients using a program called InterAction, and assisting with my department's monthly bulletin.
I am making the most of the experience of working at an international firm by seeking the opportunity to attend meetings and conferences, which have made me all the more passionate about Law. I am also soon to attend an internal mediation to observe the process of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
The theoretical side to my apprenticeship is just as interesting as its practical aspects. Although it was an initial challenge to study alongside full-time work, I have quickly learnt how to use my time effectively.
I continue to grow in confidence and ability and I look forward to seeing what the next few months will bring.
