Management and leadership apprenticeships help to build interpersonal and business skills, for experienced and newly appointed managers. Through knowledge and competency assessment, the investment allows individuals to gain a recognised qualification, as well as benefit their teams and the overall business operation.

Damar's management and team leading apprenticeships have been created for those working in a wide range of management positions, from team leaders through to departmental managers running significant operations and projects. Examples of jobs that team leading and management apprentices either do or are working towards include:

  • Senior administrator
  • Retail store supervisor
  • Hospital ward manager
  • Office manager
  • Regional retail store manager
  • Head of Department

Damar's team leading and management apprentices work in a wide range of sectors including: local government, education, law, accountancy, healthcare, financial services, hospitality, property, media, manufacturing and distribution.

Damar offers the Level 5 Operations/ Departmental Manager Apprenticeship Standard and the Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard. In both cases these include ILM or CMI accredited management qualifications.

Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship is designed for those in or moving into positions where they manage teams and/or projects and achieve operational or departmental goals and objectives. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications

ILM or CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership

Progression Routes

  • Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership
  • Management Degree

Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard

This apprenticeship is designed for those in or moving into a first line management role where they have operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome.

Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

Qualifications

ILM or CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management

Progression Routes

  • Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship
  • Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership
  • Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership
  • Management Degree
