In September 2013, BPL Solicitors Ltd launched the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services in conjunction with Damar Training and Chartered Institute of Legal Executives study centre, Wessex Law Academy. The scheme enabled students with good A levels to enter the legal profession and ultimately qualify as a lawyer without the need to go to University. In August 2014, the first crop of apprentices all completed the CILEx L3 Certificate in Property Law achieving outstanding results.
David Bridge, Managing Director of BPL said: “We have been really excited about our apprentice scheme. As an early adopter and working closely with Wessex Law and Damar, we have seen our apprentices grow through the period and are immensely proud of what they have achieved. It is wonderful to be able to invest in the future of conveyancing and to see such a positive start to a new generation of conveyancers for the future”.
Sue Press, Director of Wessex Law Academy commented: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with the BPL apprentices this year and are thrilled with their success. BPL Solicitors are very committed to development of their staff and this training pathway is a great opportunity for young people seeking their first break in law”.
Jonathan Bourne, Managing Director of Damar Training added: “BPL’s apprentices were amongst the very first in the country to enrol on this new qualification and so huge credit must go to them and the team at BPL - a 100% success rate is a fantastic outcome.“
BPL Solicitors have recruited new apprentices to start in September 2014 both at their head office in Poundbury and their new office in Bristol.
