Apprenticeship options day following GCSE results

Pupils and parents looking for post-GCSE options will be able to explore the apprenticeship route to a career in business or the professions at a special open day at Damar Training’s Stockport head office. The ‘GSCE Results Special’ event will be held on Tuesday, 25 August at Petersgate House in Stockport.

During the event, which will be held from 10am to 4pm, Damar’s team of trainers and advisers will be on hand to answer questions about apprenticeships in the region, as an alternative to A-levels or university.

Damar specialises in placing young people between the ages of 16 and 19 into business-focused apprenticeships in large and small companies across the Greater Manchester region and more widely within the UK.

The apprenticeship pathways offered by Damar open up opportunities in areas such as administration, accountancy and law and lead to fulfilling, challenging careers.

Jonathan Bourne, managing director of Damar Training, said: “many of our former apprentices have carved out amazing careers – for example we have twin brothers in Manchester who trained as accountancy apprentices with Damar and are now both directors of their respective firms.

“GCSE results day leads young people and their parents to confront a major life decision – how they decide to move on from this point will have major consequences. Our open day will enable them to be fully informed of all the available options before making that decision.

“If your child is considering a career in business or in professional services and you are interested in finding out more about the apprenticeship options available please pop in and see us on the 25th.”

No appointment is needed – the event is open to all young people who have recently received their GCSE or A level results and their parents. Damar’s offices are at Petersgate House, 64 St Petersgate, Stockport SK1 1HE
