ORJ Solicitors and Damar welcome legal apprentices


Stafford-based solicitors, ORJ have recruited seven apprentices from Damar so far, four of whom are now progressing to the CILEx-accredited advanced apprenticeship in legal services. Following the success of their apprenticeship programme so far, ORJ are now growing the team by recruiting a further four apprentice legal assistants in partnership with Damar.

Sophie Hill, Sara Leslie, Molly Johnston and Lili Mai Rushton are the four apprentices now embarking on the advanced apprenticeship in legal services. This will help them develop legal knowledge and skills in their specialist areas of practice. 

Sara, 19, said:

 "I saw this apprenticeship as a chance to get my foot in the door. I have always had an interest in law, and in addition to a qualification, I am gaining invaluable knowledge from ORJ, making it a great alternative to university".

Sophie, also 19, whose ambition is to become a team leader in the conveyancing department, said:

"ORJ has provided us with a fantastic opportunity to work and learn at the same time."

All four recruits want to continue their legal training, with Sara and Molly aiming to become Chartered Legal Executives and Lili-Mai a conveyancing fee earner.

Damar works with employers across the legal and justice sectors, including firms of solicitors, in-house legal teams, barristers’ chambers and not-for-profit legal advice agencies. Although most apprentices work in legal administrative, paralegal and fee-earner support roles, apprenticeships are also available for a range of support functions, including staff working in accounts, reception and post room roles.
