Damar and MASS Training form new partnership to offer a specialist RTA apprenticeship programme
Apprenticeship specialists Damar Training and MASS Training, the training arm of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society, have teamed up to enable aspiring personal injury lawyers to access the MASS Diploma in Personal Injury as part of an apprenticeship. Much of the cost of the apprenticeship training and the Diploma can bemet via the apprenticeship levy or Government subsidies for non-levy paying employers.
This tailored apprenticeship programme has been designed to be perfect for newly recruited paralegal apprentices in specialist personal injury (PI) and road traffic accident (RTA) firms or in-house teams. Existing non-qualified staff can also benefit, particularly if they are new to fee-earning roles.
This partnership creates a new way for recent entrants to the legal sector to gain skills, knowledge and a nationally recognised qualification without student debt or the risk of not finding a job post-university.
Simon Stanfield, Chair of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society, commented:
“We are delighted to announce the partnership between Damar Training and MASS. Damar Training are apprenticeship specialists, and this tailored programme is ideally suited to those new to fee-earning roles. The MASS Diploma in Personal Injury has been provided for many years and is recognised as a highly sought-after qualification in the PI sector. We look forward to continue to provide high quality training in conjunction with Damar Training in the years ahead.”
Jonathan Bourne, Damar Training’s Managing Director added:
“As well as learning legal fundamentals and wider business skills, apprentices working in PI/RTA roles need training that focuses on their particular areas of law and practice. MASS Training are experts in PI/RTA law and practice and so partnering with them on this apprenticeship makes perfect sense. The fact that apprentices will also graduate with the MASS Diploma in Personal Injury in addition to their apprenticeship makes this a robust and cost-effective model for law firms and individuals.”
