Damar announces senior appointments and plans for growth

Long-established apprenticeship training specialist, Damar Training, has announced two new board appointments as well as plans for growth. With effect from 11th October 2019:

Robin Lindsay becomes Commercial Partnerships Director

Diane Flynn becomes Director of People and Performance

Robin Lindsay has worked for Damar for 16 years and has an unparalleled understanding of and commitment to apprenticeships. As Commercial Partnerships Director, Robin will now take the lead for the overall growth of our provision and programme design, bringing together his employer-facing experience and his deep understanding of delivery to develop and deliver solutions to employers that have the greatest possible impact.

For more than two decades, Diane Flynn has worked in senior organisational change and HR roles, inspiring and leading teams and improving performance at large public and private sector organisations. Diane brings this knowledge and experience into to the role of Director of People and Performance, where she will oversee all Damar’s training delivery.

Jonathan Bourne, Damar’s Managing Director, commented:

“2020 will be Damar’s 40th anniversary year. Since I joined the business in 2006 we have grown 13-fold, led always by the needs of the employers and sectors with which we work. Our 5-year plan for the business sees a continuation of this historic growth and Damar more than doubling in size again.

Delivering apprenticeships that have real impact is all down to the people who deliver them and putting our customers at the heart of everything we do. The appointment of Robin and Diane to these new positions underpins our commitment to our people, our apprentices and their employers. As we grow, we will continue to invest in our people and organisational structure and maintain an unswerving focus on integrity and quality.

Damar’s vision has always been, and continues to be, to make a difference and to help our apprentices and their organisations achieve their potential. We have now had apprentices successfully complete 10 different apprenticeship standards and we see growing demand across our areas of specialism. These appointments will help many more apprentices and organisations to benefit from the fantastic opportunities presented by apprenticeships.”
